Staff Coaches

Director :

Rick CaldwellRick Caldwell - Rick has been coaching for over 36 years. He earned his US Soccer "A" License in 1986. Rick has been the assistant coach for Stanford men's and women's team, UC Berkeley women's team, UC Santa Barbara women's team, Univ. of Massachusetts men's team, and the Sacramento State women's team. He has been the head college coach at Canada College and Sierra College.

Rick has coached the Sacramento Gold of the National Premier Soccer League in their first two years of existence, and as Head Coach in 2010 the Gold won the NPSL National Championship. Rick coached the Northern California Women's Select Team (adult version of youth Olympic Development) and won two national championships (1997 and 2000).

Rick's teams have competed internationally, winning the Harlem Cup in Holland in 1988, and the Kusatsu Cup in Japan in 1999.

Rick played for Stanford University and later played for semipro teams in the Bay Area's Peninsula League.

Youth Director:

Ismael EcheverriaIsmael Echeverria played youth competitive soccer in the Elk Grove and Sacramento areas. In 2002 while playing with San Juan SC , he assisted his team, the Storm, in winning the California Cup Championship. During high school Ismael played soccer for Laguna Creek, in which he lettered all four years and was honored as a two time All-Delta League player.

Ismael continued his soccer career in college where he played for the Division I CSU Sacramento Hornets as an outside back. Ismael has been coaching for Elk Grove Everton for three years. He has received his Everton Level 1 diploma and his USSF D license.

Keeper Coach:

Jenny LawrenceJenny Lawrence began playing soccer in the Palo Alto and Stanford area. While playing for the Stanford Earthquakes, a nationally-ranked Palo Alto U-18 Premier Girls' team, she was coached by Tim Hanley.Tim Hanley coached the MLS Earthquakes and was also the goalkeeper coach for Stanford's men soccer team. The Stanford Earthquakes won the State Premier League championship fall season of 2003, after which Jenny continued her soccer career playing for a Division I University, Sacramento State University. As a senior playing for Sacramento State, Jenny was named Girls' Bay Division All-League First team as a goalkeeper. In 2009, she began her coaching experience for Christian Brother's Girls varsity team. She was Assistant coach/goalkeeper trainer for Christian Brother's. As well as coaching at the high school level, Jenny was the goalkeeper trainer for Sacramento State Women's soccer team for the 2009-2010 season. Sacramento State was Big Sky Champions this year.

Assistant Coaching Staff :

Zack TussZach Tuss' club experience was with River City United Soccer Club. Zach led his team to a State Cup Championship where he scored 3 goals in the final. Zach continued his soccer career at Natomas High School and played Varsity for 3 years. While playing at Natomas High School, Zach had a total of 34 goals and 14 assists. Also during his high school tenure, Zach was a two time All-Sierra Foothill League Selection and team MVP. Zach continued to play soccer when he joined the Division I Sacramento State Hornets. As a sophomore, Zach was named to the Cal Legacy Classic All-Tournament Team. He continued to be a highly skilled player for Sac State playing as both a forward and center back.

To begin his coaching experience, Zach went back to River City Soccer Club and was a trainer for the U-12 Boys team. He then went on to coach Valley High School's Boys team where he took the team to the playoffs in 2010.
